things get crazy
in 1881 a bunch of railroads began servicing el paso. the lush river valley and great climate attracted folks right away, and el paso officially became a 'boomtown.' by 1890, the population was us to a whopping 10,000. it was pretty diverse too with people ranging from gamlers, gunfighters, thieves, cattle and horse rustlers, murderers, priests, Chinese railroad laboreres, prostitutes, and entrepreneurs, according to wikipedia. actually, everything that gets posted is from wikipedia, but that's beside the point. so basically, el paso was a true wild west town, even earning the name, 'the six shooter capital.' that is until...
